The “L’ORÉAL-UNESCO Greek Women’s Awards in Science” are awarded in collaboration with L’Oréal Hellas and the Greek National Commission for UNESCO to young Greek scientists active in the field of life sciences and natural sciences Universities or / and Research institutes of the country.
Dr. Maria Antonopoulou has been honored for her research which focuses on: “Transformation processes of organic pollutants and the development of advanced technologies for their removal from natural and treated waters”
Dr. Antonopoulou is a Postdoctoral Researcher in the Catalytic-Photocatalytic Processes and Environmental Analysis Lab, of the Institute of Nanoscience and Nanotechnology of NCSR “Demokritos”. Dr. Antonopoulou is a graduate of the Department of Chemistry of the University of Athens, holds a postgraduate degree from the University of Ioannina and a Ph.D. degree from the Department of Environmental and Natural Resources Management, University of Patras.
