ΒlueBioMed: Mediterranean Innovation Alliance for Sustainable Blue Economy

Blue Bio Med project (  aims at supporting the process of strengthening and developing multilateral coordination frameworks in the Mediterranean for joint responses to common challenges, with specific reference to the innovation policies for Mediterranean blue bioeconomy. This will be done by bridging the transnational governance realities with the regional and territorial dimension, using the Agenda 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as the common reference grid ,and focusing mostly in SDG14 (Life below water) and SDG9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure).

Blue Bio Med will create synergies with past or current EU and other projects and initiatives. The project has been conceived as part of a broader project community. Synergies with other Interreg MED thematic communities with overlapping interests and themes (Biodiversity Protection, Green Growth, etc.) and with other Axis 4 projects will be exploited during the project life.

NCSR Demokritos is responsible for one of the four policy experiments that will take place in the project focused in Digitalisation of the blue bioeconomy. More info for the policy experiments can be find here (
