WORKSHOP 5: Entrepreneurship @ MIT. A workshop in collaboration with MIT Enterprise Forum Greece (02/07/2014)

Description: Dropbox, Bose, Akamai and Zipcar; what do these companies have in common? They were all started by members of the MIT community which has a long tradition in entrepreneurship. The Institute╩╝s graduates and faculty have been practicing technology based entrepreneurship since the 1880s. Today there are more than 25,000 active companies founded by MIT alumni, employing 3.3 million people and generating annual world revenues of nearly $2 trillion. They are the equivalent of the 11th-largest economy in the world. During this session you will learn more about the entrepreneurial spirit of the MIT community, how it is managed internally, what is its impact and what drives it forward. You will also find out about various Institute initiatives, like the MIT Enterprise Forum Greece, edX.org and the ways you can use them to support your entrepreneurial aspirations.
